Victor Osimhen is eager to finalize a move to Chelsea this summer, according to FootballTransfers.
Initially, the Nigerian striker was poised to join Enzo Maresca’s team in 2024, but negotiations between Chelsea and Napoli fell through.
Consequently, Osimhen opted for a season-long loan to Galatasaray instead. Now, the Blues are keen to reinforce their attacking options and are ready to renew their interest in Osimhen during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sources indicate that Osimhen has his eyes set on making Stamford Bridge his new home. As Chelsea seeks a prolific center forward ahead of the 2025-26 season, the 26-year-old striker remains a primary candidate.
During his time at Galatasaray, Osimhen has excelled, netting 28 goals and providing five assists in 32 matches this season, solidifying his status as one of the top strikers in the world.
In addition to Osimhen, Chelsea has also been monitoring Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap as a potential target. However, it is anticipated that their pursuit of Osimhen will intensify once the transfer window reopens.
While Osimhen has recently generated significant interest from Manchester United, particularly as manager Ruben Amorim is on the lookout for new striking talent, it appears that the Nigerian international prefers a move to Chelsea.
With a release clause in his Napoli contract valued between €75-80 million, Osimhen is poised to leave the Serie A club on a permanent deal this summer. Chelsea is also tracking the fitness of Nicolas Jackson, who has just returned from a two-month hamstring injury, but the club remains focused on bolstering its forward line, making Osimhen a key target in their plans.
